About Me

Professional Background

Software engineer with over ten years of experience and a growing focus on DevOps and platform engineering. I combine solid backend knowledge in Go and PHP with hands-on experience in AWS, Terraform, GitHub CI/CD, and observability. I deliver reliable, maintainable systems and take responsibility for the full software delivery lifecycle.

Alongside my engineering work, I have been active in the housing sector for years. As board member, secretary, and chair of Huurdersplatform Westerkwartier, and as a member of the Woonbond at national level, I have learned to navigate complex interests, diversity in engagement, and long-term governance. These are the same qualities I bring to technical work: oversight, ownership, and attention to the full delivery chain.

Work Approach

In my work, I take full responsibility for the end result. I'm analytical, solution-oriented, and self-reflective — qualities I bring to every project. Together with stakeholders, I deliver software that works and keeps working.

Taking ownership of results and impact
Ownership

Continuous Improvement
Learning from every iteration and implementation

Experience with

  • Direct client relationships and stakeholder management
  • Collaborating with non-technical teams and decision makers
  • Translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Governance and organizational structures (board role)

Volunteer work & community involvement

Alongside my work as a software engineer, I have been active in the housing sector for years — not as an occasional contribution, but as a continuous involvement that has deepened step by step. These roles require governance insight, navigating complex interests, and connecting people with very different backgrounds — qualities I bring to technical work as well.

  1. Huurdersplatform Westerkwartier

Huurdersplatform Westerkwartier (HPW) represents tenants in discussions with our housing corporation and local government in the Westerkwartier region. I started as a board member (2018), took on the role of secretary (2022), and am now chair (2024). That progression was not planned — it followed the places where I could contribute.

    • Chair
    • Secretary
    • Board Member
  2. Woonbond

The Woonbond is the national advocacy organization for tenants in the Netherlands. I serve as a member of the association council (2021), spokesperson for the financial commission (2023), and initiator of renewal and rejuvenation in association democracy (2024). The latter is about keeping a large member organization relevant and engaging new people — a question I find genuinely interesting.

    • Initiator of renewal in association democracy
    • Spokesperson, Financial Commission
    • Association Council Member
